A Nasty Bite

“Nashville Eats” Book Release Party & Signings

After a year and eight months of work, I’m pleased say that “Nashville Eats” will officially hit the shelves October 6! I have a few events planned to celebrate throughout October. I hope to see you!

October 6
Book release party at The Family Wash
American Watermelon (and special guests) will play songs from the book’s kitchen playlists paired with a few short readings.
Parnassus Books also will be in the house with books.
Music begins at 6pm sharp.

October 7
Barnes & Noble Vanderbilt
A short talk about stories and recipes from the book. We’ll play snippets of songs from the kitchen playlists, and we’ll have pimento goat cheese, a recipe from the book inspired by a story about Noble Springs Dairy.

October 9
Southern Festival of Books
Q&A with Dora Charles, a former chef with Paula Deen and author of “A Real Southern Cook: In Her Savannah Kitchen”
Legislative Plaza, Room 12
2pm to 3pm

October 10
Southern Festival of Books
Nicki Wood of Southern Cooking for Company and I will talk about our books and recipes from Nashville and the South.
The Banner Room at the Downtown Public Library

October 31
The Porch Writers’ Collective Workshop
Read It, Write It, Eat It: Food in literature from the page to the pen to the plate
From Proust’s madeleine to Quentin Tarantino’s Royale with Cheese, food has long served as a writer’s muse. In this workshop, we’ll read and discuss excerpts from fiction and nonfiction, and even listen to song inspired by food. We’ll explore the ways food can help us make deeper emotional connections in our work. And we’ll eat, of course, as some bites will be inspired by what we read while others will inspire us to write our own stories.
The Skillery in Germantown
Noon to 3pm
